What is the Political Courage Test?

Wyoming Congressional Election 2022 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
All human life has value. The constitution gives no provision for the federal government to involve itself with our healthcare. Whether abortion remains legal is for the citizens to decide in their respective states.
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
I believe Social Security and Medicare are not constitutionally supported programs and thus should be carefully phased out as to not harm those who are already retired and relying on them to survive.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
I believe campaign contributions should be limited to individuals and parties only with the current individual limit remaining $2900 and the party being limited to $10,000. It's time to even the playing field.
Yes Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
Qualified immunity should ONLY be applied if officials and officers were following standard enforcement procedures. This is why body cameras are so important, as they protect officers from individuals and individuals from officers.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
I support eliminating waste in defense spending and bringing our troops home from policing the world.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
No Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
We need to abolish the Federal Reserve. The federal government must also stop inserting itself into the free market, and let it take its course without intervention.
No Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
Yes Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
The tenth amendment applies to both energy and the environment. The federal government needs to remove itself from these industries and let the people and the states take control if they so choose.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The second amendment is clear and needs no interpretation.
No Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
No Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities?
No Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs?
Again, the federal government has no constitutional authority to do any of those things. We must let the free-market work as it is supposed to without intervention.
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
This answer deserves more thoughtfulness than a yes or no response. I think for the millions who have come here in the last 5 years, absolutely. For criminals, they should never be allowed to return. For children who came here alone, they should not be sent back to an unsafe environment. For those who've been here for 10 or more years we must find a way for them to earn citizenship through a merit/monetary penalty process; Maybe for those who came here ILLEGALLY (a felony) we deny them the ability to vote as a part of their citizenship agreement.
No Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
No Do you support the U.S. providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
No Do you support raising taxes, on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth?
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
Tariffs aren't necessarily bad and can be beneficial in some instances, but we shouldn't have quotas, and trade should be fair for American businesses. Again, the free-market will work if we let it.
My top legislative priorities are as follows: Pass the FAIRtax (HR 25 currently); Eliminate deficit spending/balance the budget; Work on passing the One Subject-One Bill Transparency Act (HR 46 currently); work on eliminating the unconstitutional bureaucratic agencies (which is most of them), and until that happens work on passing Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling for beef; advocating for abolishing the Federal Reserve and repealing both the 16th and 17th amendments.
